School will close for the SUMMER HOLIDAYS on Friday 21st July 2017 and re-open to pupils on Friday 8th September 2017.

"Art, craft and design embody some of the highest forms of human creativity. A high-quality art and design education should engage, inspire and challenge pupils, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to experiment, invent and create their own works of art, craft and design. As pupils progress, they should be able to think critically and develop a more rigorous understanding of art and design. They should also know how art and design both reflect and shape our history, and contribute to the culture, creativity and wealth of our nation."  National Curriculum Art and Design Programme of Study, 2014

Here at Dersingham we aim to ensure that all pupils:

We work collaboratively with Bow Arts, an educational charity here in East London.  We hold termly Art Days, with a different focus each time.  The children learn about a variety of artists and experience a range of art techniques.  Artists from Bow Arts visit school regularly, to work with both children and staff on developing art skills.

This academic year we are also collaborating with Artis, to developing the performing arts throughout our curriculum.  All classes have a weekly session with Flick, our Artis specialist, in which they cover a range of dance, drama and performance skills.
