Meet the Governors

Governors at Dersingham
The Governors of Dersingham are a group of people who meet twice a term to talk to Ms. Bezer and check that the school is doing the best it can for all its pupils.  Currently the Governing body consists of teachers, school support staff, Ms Bezer and representatives from the local community as well as volunteers from outside the local area.

What role do the Governors play?
The Governing body of Dersingham meet regularly with Ms Bezer and work hard to pick up any issues that might arise and discuss how best to resolve these.  They also take a lot of time to reflect upon things that are going well in the school.  The Governors are able to talk about the future of the school and make plans that will enable it to provide the best education possible for all its children.

What can the Governors do for you?
The Governors strive to do their very best for the school but are always happy to hear from parents about their thoughts and opinions.  If there is something you are unhappy with, something that you are really pleased with or even if you have a good idea that you think might benefit the school and the children, then the Governors would be more than happy to hear from you.
Could I become a Governor?
The Governors of Dersingham are always looking to recruit more parents so if you care about the school and would like be involved in making it the best school it can be then please contact the school to show your interest. We currently have vacancies on the Governing Body for both Parents and Co-Opted governors.

How can I contact the Governors?
If you would like to get in contact with the Governors or if you are interested in joining the team you can send an email to info@dersingham.newham.sch.uk.  Please use the word ‘Governor’ in the subject box of the email so that it can be forwarded on to the right people. Alternatively you can visit the school office and leave your contact details.  Gill Gordon (Chair of Governors) will then get back to you as soon as possible.

Register of Pecuniary Interest (2015-16)
All governors are asked to complete a declaration of pecuniary and related business interests. The register is reviewed annually and Governors are asked to sign an up to date declaration.  The table below shows any business interests declared by the Governors, as well as details of their terms of office.

Unlike some other Governing Bodies, Dersingham does not currently have committees but holds a full governing body meeting every half term with a different focus e.g. finance and staffing the first half, children and curriculum the second half.
