Times of the Day
Our school day begins at 8:55am, for children in Reception to Year 6, and ends at 3:15pm. The school gates open at 8:40am. Children must be supervised by their parent/carer in the playground until the 8:55am morning bell has rung. Each class has a specific place in the playground to line up. School staff will meet the children at 8:55am and escort them into the classrooms. If you have a message for your child’s teacher, please pass it through your child’s Teaching Assistant. Class Teachers are available to speak to parents after school. Please see below for the typical timetable for each phase.
On Monday morning, each class holds a 15 minute 'class assembly'. This assembly introduces the children to our SMSC theme for the week. Holding this assembly in the classroom allows the children to be active participants and join in with discussions and activities. Later in the week, the class will again revisit the theme and complete a follow up activity.
Each Phase also holds a Phase Assembly each week. This is an opportunity for the Phase Leader to address all of the children in the Phase. They can pass on important messages, share good news and celebrate the achievements of the children.
On Friday mornings, children attend our Celebration Assembly. We use this assembly to celebrate good behaviour, share whole school news and celebrate the achievements of the children - both inside and outside of school. The House Points collected by each class that week are brought to the Hall and poured into the main House Point columns. Years 1-3 celebrate which House has won the weekly prize, while Years 4-6 see the completed columns each week. We always like to hear about the children's achievements outside of school. If your child is in a club or group outside of school and has an achievement to celebrate, let their class teacher know.
