We've received numerous inquiries about Free School Meals, and we'd like to clarify the process for you. In Newham, all children primary schools receive Free School Meals, which are provided and funded by the Local Authority. This provision is a fortunate one for our children, as in some areas, families have to pay for such meals. For families who apply for Free School Meals online and meet the eligibility criteria, additional funding is allocated to the school. This additional funding allows us to provide eligible families with vouchers for the holiday period. It's important to note that not all families who apply are eligible. The school does not determine eligibility criteria; rather, we receive a final list from the authorities indicating who is and who isn't eligible, without specific reasons provided. Training for parents/carers of children who: Aged Reception to Year 11 who have social communication needs or a diagnosis of Autism. Parents/carers must be Newham residents or children must attend a Newham school. Learn about social communication and strategies to help your child interact and stay focused, calm and engaged.

In addition to our school service offer, LCIS provides a range of courses for families of primary and secondary-aged children and young people in Newham who have a diagnosis of autism or social communication difficulties. We have a training offer for Early Years parents, and School-Aged for parents of children in Reception-Year 11.

You will learn what a Core Vocabulary Board is and why and how to use it at home with your child. There will be opportunities to ask questions about topics covered with the Speech and Language Therapists. Core Vocabulary Board: CVB is a form of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). It is made up of colour-coded core words and aims to support the understanding and use of words to communicate.
