CPD FEDERATION CONSULTATION NEWS
On Monday 22nd January 2018, the proposal for formally creating the CPD Schools Federation was released to parents and stakeholders.
We have been working really hard at Dersingham Primary School to raise standards and improve progress for all the children. As you know, from the start of the summer term 2017, a new Headteacher, Lando Du Plooy, and an Interim Executive Board (IEB), have been temporarily in charge of the school. We would like to thank you now for all the support that you have given.
We have been considering what we will need to do to improve on these developments and think the most helpful approach will be to work with another nearby successful school. In order to achieve this, Darren Williams, the Headteacher of Central Park School, has been appointed Executive Headteacher of Dersingham and Central Park Schools and Lando Du Plooy is now the permanent Headteacher of Dersingham.
The next step would be for us to join together formally in a Federation. This means that a single governing body would be responsible for both schools. We would like your views on this proposal.
Benefits of our Federation
The schools will continue to each be subject to their own OFSTED inspection and have certain other separate legal responsibilities. We believe that the benefits of hard federation are that;
Children will benefit from opportunities to share staff expertise and resources across both schools.
Good practice for children with Special Educational Needs will be shared across both schools.
The curriculum will be supported by expert teachers from two schools.
Children will benefit from the recruitment and retention of staff because:
there will be increased opportunities to enhance the continuing professional development (CPD) opportunities for all staff;
career progression and opportunities will be enhanced, as will leadership opportunities.
Please see the full leaflet detailing the proposal for the Federation. Lando, IEB and the Executive Headteacher, Darren Williams, will be hosting four consultation meetings to answer any questions you may have. These will be held 8:30-9:30am and 3:30-4:30pm on Thursday 8th February 2018 and Friday 9th February 2018. You can also email any questions or queries to: cpdconsultation@gmail.com
